My passion is to photograph the streets of Los Angeles and share the urban environment I live in with people worldwide. It is my home and inspiration. My photographs and art capture the everyday life of this city. I offer my thoughts and analysis regarding what I see and experience. The public realm helps me reflect on the private realm.
Art sustains me. My work - photographs, writing, paintings, and installations are all part of my art practice. Focused on the conceptual, I explore my ideas using many different media. Photography, video, painting, digital illustration, traditional illustration and collage have all figured into my work. The excitement of experimentation and discovery inspires me to engage in the creative process.
Coming from an existential perspective, my focus in art has been on the artifacts of everyday life. I am interested in found objects and their history. From the discarded, the abandoned, I get a glimpse into anonymous lives. Looking into the personal, the mundane, I come closer to understanding universal drives, especially those of my own.
Among my influences are:
Friedrich Nietsche
Jean-Paul Sarte
Marc Trujillo

Marcel Duchamp

David Hockney
